Villa Manin: art and history come together in IKON’s interactive touchpoint

The origins of Villa Manin date back to the 17th century. Over time, this prestigious residence in Passariano, in the Friulian plain, has hosted eminent figures: its halls welcomed doges and kings and served as headquarters first for Napoleon Bonaparte and later for Charles I of Habsburg.
Today, Villa Manin is a leading cultural center in the region, organizing art exhibitions and musical events, as well as cataloging and restoring cultural heritage.

To present visitors with the long history of the villa, its park, and the Manin family, IKON has designed an interactive touchpoint. From this station, visitors can explore the construction phases that shaped the current layout, admire the architecture through a detailed 3D reconstruction, and take a virtual tour of the halls to discover the artworks and decorative objects they contain.
A series of timelines also allows users to delve into the villa’s historical role across centuries and learn about the notable figures who have passed through its rooms.

The 3D reconstruction process of the complex made use of aerial photogrammetry techniques to achieve a particularly faithful digital replica.
For the creation of the virtual tour of the interior spaces, IKON employed its proprietary Virtours technology.
