“Gorithia – Through the Folds of Time”: four immersive exhibitions retrace a thousand years of Gorizia’s history

As part of Gorizia and Nova Gorica European Capitals of Culture 2025, “Gorithia – Through the Folds of Time (1001–2025)” has been inaugurated, a project promoted by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia that tells over a millennium of history through immersive and interactive languages.

The four exhibitions, hosted within the Smart Space of Fondazione Carigo and developed by IKON, take visitors on a journey through time with virtual reality experiences, immersive projections, videomapping, and interactive displays.
From the Middle Ages to the present day, each exhibition narrates the historical, social, and cultural evolution of the city, intertwining artworks, documents, and digital content into a visual story that connects people and place.

An initiative that blends innovation and memory, offering an experience that celebrates the identity of Gorizia and its thousand-year history while looking toward the future.
